Update: IRD July 2020 Maintenance

Enterprise Applications will be performing maintenance from 6:30 p.m., Friday, July 17th  through midnight, Saturday, July 18th .

The following production change items will be included in the maintenance window:

  • Banner General 8.11.3, 8.12, 8.12.1 (Required for Banner HR 8.18 Upgrade)
  • PCI War File (Required for General 8.11.3)
  • Banner HR and Payroll 8.17, 8.18, 8.18.01 (Required for Banner HR Administrative Services)
  • Banner Position Control 8.17, 8.18 (Required for Banner HR 8.18 Upgrade)
  • Clean_Address USPS data update (Server Maintenance)

During the Upgrade, the following systems will not be available:

  • Argos (Banner Reports)
  • Automic (Scheduler for Banner jobs & data integrations)
  • Banner 9 Admin Pages/SSB (Enterprise Resource Planning System)
  • BDM (Banner Document Management)
  • Cardinal Apps (Links to Banner 9 and BDM/Xtender within the Cardinal Apps)
  • Degree Works (Academic Advising, Degree Audit Software)

The following production change items will be included in the maintenance window:

  • Banner Event Publisher 9.3 (Required for Recruit 6.1 Upgrade)
  • Banner Database Upgrade 9.19 (Required for Recruit 6.1 Upgrade)
  • Banner Database Upgrade 9.19 patch (Required for Recruit 6.1 Upgrade)
  • Banner Document Management/Application Xtender Server 8.7.1 (Required for Recruit 6.1 Upgrade)
  • Banner Document Management/Application Xtender Server API 9.2.0.1 (Required for Recruit 6.1 Upgrade)
  • Banner Recruit Integration Manager 2.6  (Required for Recruit 6.1 Upgrade)
  • Rabbit MQ 4.0 (Required for Recruit 6.1 Upgrade)

During the Upgrade, the following systems will not be available:

Blackboard Link Issues

Hello UIW Community,

Users are experiencing issues accessing Blackboard via the blackboard.uiwtx.edu link.

Workaround: Navigate to Blackboard via Cardinal Apps.

  • Log into Cardinal Apps
  • Click the BlackBoard Learn icon
  • This will automatically log you into the site

Workaround 2: Use drop down at the Bottom of the blackboard.uiwtx.edu site

  • Change the drop down from “Sign in with Third Party Account”
  • Select “Log in with Cardinal Apps”

Direct links will slowly start to not work properly, as Cardinal Apps is the preferred method to get to the site.

If you are getting an error while heading through Cardinal Apps, please head to the Cardinal Apps homepage at https://apps.uiw.edu and click on your name at the top of the page > Sign out. Sign back in and try again.

Zoom App Not Launching

Hello UIW Community,

Users are experiencing issues with the Zoom App not launching when joining/starting a meeting.

Workaround: Use Zoom via the web browser.

  • Log into Cardinal Apps at apps.uiw.edu
  • Click on the ZOOM icon
  • Click on Join a Meeting
  • Enter your Meeting ID and Click Join
  • If clicking on “Open zoom.us” does not work, click on the blue “start from your browser” link at the bottom of the page.

Our team is looking into the issue and hopes to have a resolution in place as soon as possible.

  • Banner Finance 8.13.0.1  (Required for Finance Banner Operations)
  • Form Fusion Server (Windows Update)
  • Oracle Security Patch (Quarterly Critical Patch Updates-April 2020)(Required for Banner 9 Admin, Degree Works, and Automic Operations)
  • TranscriptPlus RoboRegistrar (Windows Updates)
  • Update CLEAN_Address (Address Verification) subscription

 During the Upgrade, the following systems will not be available:

Outlook Webmail Outage

Hello UIW Community,

Users are experiencing issues accessing their email through the web client. This is a known issue and is being worked on by Microsoft.

Workaround:

  • The Outlook Desktop Client as well as the Mobile App are not experiencing any issues and can be used to access your email in the meantime.
