UIW.edu was offline briefly on Friday evening, Sept. 6. Service was restored relatively quickly. During the outage, https://my.uiw.edu/NAME continued to work, but the main my.uiw.edu did not. Sites such as https://apps.uiw.edu were unaffected. The Web Team is inspecting the logs to determine what caused the outage.
The noontime period was selected due to historical patterns of low- to non-use during that time. As of this writing, the time span was available and free of scheduled sessions.
Afterwards, users needed to login anew after the changeover using their current UIW email and password. This is a one-time event if they continue save the login info in their browsers and clients.
IRD will continue to add other programs to https://apps.uiw.edu. Please use that portal to login and access the various services.
Poll Everywhere, UIW’s polling software, sent a number of messages asking recipients to change their password. This was caused by an error during testing of the Blackboard LMS. While this is a legitimate source, THERE IS NO REASON to update your info. Please disregard the email. UIW ITS is working on a solution to this error.
The UIW Web Team is aware of the situation that UIW.edu is not showing in your web browser. Use https://my.uiw.edu for direct access to the community pages. Select “Student,” “Faculty,” or “Staff” from the upper-right menu area.
UIW IRD is working on an issue where off-campus users cannot log in to their Zoom accounts. Users see a “HTTP Error 503” message in their web browsers. We’ll update as the status changes. The service is available to those logging in from UIW network locations.
The UIW Web Team rebooted https://uiw.edu website at 4 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 24 causing a service disruption of several minutes for users and viewers accessing the site during this time. Functionally was restored within 10 minutes.
Blackboard will be updating their databases between the hours of 11:00 PM CST, Sunday, December 23 and 5:00 AM CST, Monday, December 24.
During this maintenance window, Blackboard users will not be able to access the platform.

The Zoom web-conference app’s login has been fixed. If you continue to have problems, please contact the Help Desk at email@example.com.
The web-conferencing app Zoom is experiencing login issues. We’re aware of the problem and are working to correct this.
Zoom’s log-in functionality has been restored. UIW users may now log in normally.
