REMINDER: Banner 9 Cutover 9/30/18

Enterprise Applications would like to remind all Banner users that the last day to use Banner 8 (INB) alongside Banner 9 is Sunday, 9/30/18. Banner 8 (INB) will no longer be available for daily use. Please access Banner 9 via the myWord portal Launchpad to complete all daily work.

IRD September 2018 Maintenance

Enterprise Applications will be performing maintenance on Friday, Sept. 21 from 6:30PM to 11:00PM.

The following production change items will be included in the maintenance window:

  • Banner Financial Aid 8.33/8.33.0.1/9.3.10 (Required for Financial Aid functionality)
  • Database Configuration Changes (Required for Banner 9 functionality)
  • Argos/FormFusion Data Freeze (Required for Evisions Upgrade)

 During the maintenance window the following systems will not be available:

  • Banner INB/SSB (Enterprise Resource Planning System)
  • BDM (Banner Document Management)
  • myWord Portal (Links to Banner within the portal)
  • Argos (Database Reporting Software)
  • FormFusion (Document Enhancement Software)

IRD Maintenance: Friday, Sept. 7

Information Resources Division will be performing maintenance on Friday, Sept. 7 from 6:30PM to 11:00PM.

NOTE: These changes will affect all BDM/ApplicationXtender users. To ensure uninterrupted functionality on Monday, Sept. 10, please restart your computer and clear your browser cache after the upgrade is complete.

The following production change items will be included in the maintenance window:

  • Captiva Cloud 3.0 Software Installation (Required for Banner Document Management & ApplicationXtender functionality)
  • ApplicationXtender 16.3 P02 with Hotfixes (Required to correct batch scanning issues, Document Type & Ordering issues)

 During the maintenance window the following systems will not be available:

  • BDM/ApplicationXtender (Banner Document Management)

SERVICE INTERRUPTION: MyWord Portal

The portal vendor will perform maintenance tasks starting on Thursday, August 2nd at 11:00pm through Friday, August 3rd at 6:00am CST.

The portal architecture will be upgraded during this time.

During the maintenance window the portal will intermittently be unavailable.

Banner 9: Issues & Updates

Enterprise Applications would like to provide updates on the following issues that have been reported by the Banner community:

Issue #1: Banner 9 Finance Self-Service Application – My Requisitions

Purchasing users report that requisitions processed via My Requisition Self-Service Banner application (Banner 9) are not flowing through the automatic process to assign the buyer causing problems for purchasing We have reported this issue to Ellucian. Banner 9 SSB links within myWord portal will be removed due to defects until Ellucian provides a resolution. Enterprise Applications encourages users to utilize the Banner 9 Purchasing administrative pages until further notice.

Issue #2: Banner 9 Finance Self-Service Application – My Finance Query

Users have reported that the My Finance Query self-service banner application does not work consistently for every user. We are working with UIW administrative assistants to research and troubleshoot further with Ellucian. Banner 9 SSB links within myWord portal will be removed due to defects until Ellucian provides a resolution. Enterprise Applications encourages users to utilize the Banner 9 Finance administrative pages until further notice. 

Issue #3: Banner 9 Screen Print Format

Users have reported that they are unable to print the entire screen within Banner 9 administrative pages as they did in Banner 8. This is a known defect and Ellucian is currently working on a patch release.

Issue #4: BDM/AppXtender – Redaction issues, Rubber Stamp issues, Page Order & Formatting issues

Users have reported issues with the following functionality in the latest version of BDM/AppXtender: redaction, rubber stamp, page order, page format. Ellucian has released patch updates to the latest version; however, after thorough testing, Enterprise Applications discovered additional bugs We are currently working with Ellucian and will notify the community when successful tests are achieved and we are ready to upgrade.

Issue #5 Banner 9/AppXtender Timeout

Users have reported that they are logged out of Banner 9/AppXtender after 10 minutes of inactivity and are forced to log in several times throughout the day. Enterprise Applications is currently researching this timeout issue and will report back with an update by August 1.

Issue #6 myWord Portal Lockouts/Banner Password Expiration

Users have reported error message “Your session has expired. Click Reload to access login page”. This is an indication your Banner password is expired and locked. Database administrators are working on a permanent solution to synchronize expiration of Oracle passwords which will correct the issue. If you encounter this issue, please contact the Help Desk to reset your Banner INB password.

Finance Self-Service Banner 9

Enterprise Applications has removed links to Finance Self-Service Banner 9 within myWord portal as bugs have been identified. These links will be restored when Ellucian delivers a solution. We will keep the community posted as issues are resolved. Thank you.
