IRD July 2018 Maintenance

Information Resources Division will be performing scheduled system & server maintenance on July 18, July 20, & July 22. Please note the following outage details:

OUTAGE #1: Wednesday, July 18, 2018 6:30PM-8:30 PM

Department: Digital Infrastructure & User Services

The Infrastructure team will be performing scheduled maintenance on Wednesday, July 18 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. While this maintenance window is designed to ensure no loss of connectivity or service interruptions, we encourage users to remain vigilant should any issues arise.

The following production change items will be included in the maintenance window: 

  • Load Balancer Replacement (Required for routine maintenance)

OUTAGE #2: Friday, July 20, 2018 6:30PM-2:30AM

Department: Enterprise Applications

Enterprise Applications will be performing maintenance on Friday, July 20 beginning at 6:30PM through Saturday, July 21 at 2:30AM.

The following production change items will be included in the maintenance window:

  • ApplicationXtender Service Package Updates (Required for scanning/imaging capabilities)
  • Financial Aid 8.32/9.3.9.0.2 (Required for Financial Aid functionality)
  • General 8.10.1 (Required for Financial Aid Upgrade)
  • HR Upgrade 8.15 (Required for Human Resources functionality)
  • Student Self-Service Banner Registration Launch (Required for Banner 9 functionality)
  • Recruit Custom Push SQL (Required for Banner Recruit Integration Management)
  • Student Financial Records Agreement Activation (Required as a component of Student Self-Service Banner Registration Launch)

 During the maintenance window the following systems will not be available:

  • Banner INB/SSB (Enterprise Resource Planning System)
  • BDM (Banner Document Management)
  • myWord Portal (Links to Banner within the portal)

OUTAGE #3: Sunday, July 22 6:30PM-11:30PM

Department: Digital Infrastructure & User Services

The Infrastructure team will be performing scheduled maintenance on Sunday, July 22 from 6:30 PM to 11:30 PM. While we do not anticipate a loss in connectivity throughout the entire window, we are estimating that there will be two time periods of approximately 10-15 minutes when ALL internet connectivity will be down while devices are being rebooted.

The following production change items will be included in the maintenance window:

  • Updates to Firewall and Supporting Network Switches (Required to improve security & performance)

During the maintenance window the following services will not be available for a total of 30 minutes:

  • All UIW locations and residence halls will lose connectivity to the internet and any services that require network connectivity
  • Remote users who are off site may experience issues logging into most services during the break in internet connectivity

Note: Offsite or mobile access to e-mail and files in OneDrive will NOT be impacted.
